Dent's book is a worthwhile read. You have to remember that he was the first to put PNW feller techniques into a book. And I don't think he's edited much if any since then. His video's while good for the time, have become severely outdated now. I think they were filmed in the 70's with a low budget production. You can actually see him cutting his offside hinge wood in one of them. His book has sound principals and you can learn how to do a swing cut if you are willing to read it.

Beraneks book is a good read as well, also has a lot about climbing.
 
The (negative) diagrams of the cuts must have been reversed.

Are they reversed?
I could never follow it
