Here's some pictures on what is a trend here, downhill skyline yarding in thinnings. It's either go downhill yarding or helicopter it, road building is becoming a no no. These guys are good...not as much damage as I expected.
In fact, less than some of the other crews yarding uphill. I missed the day when they had a support rigged up. Coming soon, really steep ground again.
The yarder pictured is a Madill 071. I took photos of their high tech leveling mechanism, hooktender rigging a tree, and a view looking down to the landing after yarding was completed. These guys move fast and I'll be out tomorrow with their harried hooktender up in the rocks, looking for twister trees. :(

man, that is purtty high tech leveling. did they call in the army corps engineers for that dealio?:hmm3grin2orange:.
