I have no doubt that your 346 really has a lot more power then a stock saw.Having ran some of there saws and looked inside of some of there barrels,I do question there claims of 50% power gains.Ken,Dennis or I can get that figure but it comes with extensive work on the barrel, piston, carb and the exhaust. My PP346s are right on the edge of a 55% gain.
A dyno is a great tool to have but you cant cut wood with one.I started using dynos before some of you people were born (1970) and I can basically hand you a read out sheet saying what I want you to see.
If your above HP figures are correct, your 346 should have more power then a stock 365 Husky, will it out cut one?
I made 5 runs with a highly modified PP372s on a dyno and came up with 7.3,7.4,7.9,8.2 and one run was at 9.0. That will average out to about 7.96 hp,is that the true hp of that saw,I think not.If I sent you the sheet along with the saw that had the 9 hp on it you would be happy but would it be correct? That particular saw would out cut a stock 394 but not by a lot so I would guess the true hp of that saw to be about 7.1--7.4.
