We dropped one tree trunk up the hill to save some time and apparently it shook the neighbors house a little , those freaks came running out like it was the end of the world.:)

I had a sequential removal of a humongous willow where I would put a day a year in on it.

It would always be in the winter and dropping big chunks would make the china two doors away rattle.
 
Why chance it?

I would rope/piece it down, make a big ole pile to SOFTLY drop stem on and bid it accordingly. Take a chance enough times and eventually . . . OUCH
 
If you have insurance, go for it. If you dont have insurance, move on Bro.

Being insured is not the be all, end all. An insurance claim should be a last resort for any accident. Most insurance companies will figure out a way to deny a claim and then drop your coverage and good luck trying to get another policy after that. Be very careful with a 'don't worry, be happy, I have insurance attitude'. Been there, done that:( and lesson learned.
