That would be mine today! May 18th.
Finished loading some wood on a guys trailer and had set a really nice pair of ear muffs on the forklift tire, a Hippo, like a skid steer tire, while we talked a few minutes before. I got them from an audiologist, so a really nice pair. Not so nice any more.

Oh, don't feel too bad. I just got my new hearing aids and was trying to take care of them, since they cost 3700 dollars. I still couldn't hear my cell directions. So, I took my left one out so I could put the ear bud in. There was so much junk in my truck I couldn't find a good place to put my hearing aid. Later that evening I realized it was gone and couldn't remember what I did with it. Went nuts looking for it. I'd been milling most of the day so I started sifting through all the sawdust. I even got the shop vac and sucked it all up. Even with insurance it cost me 900 cash to replace. A few days later I stopped at 7-11 for a cup of coffee and couldn't find my red refill cup. Then I remembered I had dropped it in the empty cup and put the lid on. While I was sifting sawdust, my wife in son tore my truck apart looking for it, and threw away all the trash. Including my red refill cup.

When my niece was young, in grade school, she had several operations for bilateral cleft palate. She also had a very expensive mouth piece, that she left on her lunch tray one day. All the leftovers got scrapped off the trays and given to a pig farmer. (You can see where this is going.) The school called the pig farmer once they realized what happened, and he went through all that... stuff. Not one class room, the whole elementary schools plate scrappings in a garbage can... and he found it!

But she was a kid. Who sets something down on top of a tire? Duh...

Couple years ago I ran over a $200 creeper.

Was working on the truck, started raining so I pushed the creeper under the bed so it wouldn't get wet.

Next day somehow missed it on my pre-trip/walk around and ran it right over. Ruined it.

I once placed TWO, not one, but TWO fairly new chainsaws behind the dozer tracks of a JD 750, so no falling trees would hit them. Yeah.....forgot to tell my brother they were there. One was a Dolmar 7900 which I was able to save after spending $300 in parts. The Stihl 250 didn't fare so well.

:angry::angry::angry:

I can't hear without my hearing aids or power muffs, but I have yet to lose or destroy one. That in itself is a miracle! I do lose and damage plenty of other stuff, though. It gets worse with getting older.

Bought a brand new honda2000 generator few years back.
B's,n with the fella and put it in back of truck.
Going home down the highway, some guy got along side me and waved me over.
The tailgate didn't latch proper...
And as paul Harvey would say....:wtf:
