Do any of you pros use the snatch blocks listed on ebay that seem to all come from the Los Angeles area? Are they decent? Anything to watch out for?

For an example, see ebay listing # 150176145444 which is a 20,000# snatch block with grease fitting and sheave for 1/2" Amsteel for about $23.

[For those who know I'm a newbie climber: No, I don't plan to use it for tree rigging, at least not yet, but wondered whether it's any good for towing, etc., on the ground, and figured you boys might use them.]

Thanks and be safe.

Seems a little sketchy to me personally...

I just too a look around at Baileys and Wesspur..they both have pulleys like your looking at through ebay..

but the break strength on the ones through Baileys and Wesspur were 7,000-8500 lbs..generally...

20,000 pounds from half inch...havent seen that before in any block at half inch.

If i were you i would go through a reputable company like Baileys or Wesspur...

Good luck with it...
