Echo 330T carb - what is this ?

Bought a used Echo 330T, took it apart to clean it up and found this barbed nipple (circled in yellow) with nothing attached to it. Anyone know what goes on there?

It's supposed to go to a compensation valve on the air cleaner , which affects the fuel pumping of the carburetor when packed with debris. Just leave it unplugged, it makes no difference and clean you air filter!
I put a short length of fuel line on mine to keep fines from getting into the carb cover.
