Echo 550 EVL

I got an Echo 550 EVL at a garage sale today, was going to lunch and stopped to see if they had anything worth looking at and found it there. Started on the third pull, looks almost mint, but will need a little carb tuning. Anybody else have one that could tell me a little bit about it? Oh, almost forgot, I gave $40 for it.

My dad had one of those for a few years, between stihls. Seemed like a decent saw at the time. They keep a 650evl on the snow cat I drive, and I avoid using it at all costs. I carry one of my own saws if I know there're going to be any trees down. Guess I'm spoiled now. It's heavy for the power. PITA to work on, but mostly because I don't know it very well.

Don't have 550 but do have a 500. Echos may not be the fastest but they are dependable and pretty much trouble free. Take care of it and will last a life time. Once in a while you get lucky at a garage sale.
