Is the Echo 550ELV any good? I know of one for 75.00 fair shape, looks I mean I have not heard it run...

FWIW I had an echo in the 1990's Forget what model. That saw was not a high revving one but it cut real nice and never missed a beat in the 10 years I had it. I cut about 8-10 cords a year. Did you try a search??

That's a fair price for one, decent saw, should be close to your 55R but runs a little different. i.e. more grunt less rpm.
