Yet somehow the MarkII outsells the Echo offerings by a landslide. If they were truly groundbreaking guys would be fighting over them like the last Tickle Me Elmo on the shelf.
They are old designs that appeal to some guys because they are cheap. Probably a better deal than a clamshell from Stihl or Husky although a 450 rancher makes more power.

Echo are not cheap in quality but cheap in price compared to others. Do not buy a Echo to take to the race track. But if you want a excellent every day driver like a Toyota or Honda firewood saw then Echo is your saw.
Remember walker, you said it yourself, you have no modern day experience with Echo since the Echo Kioritz days.
