I'm not sure. If any other models used that same separate manual oiler like that or not.

The check valves are in the two fittings that screw into the pump body and the inlet and output lines go to them.

Mr. Modified, I got a CS-452VL parts saw coming from Mark Heimann the first part of September. The IPL shows the same part numbers for the check balls and springs as the 900's. I will pass this saw along to you if you'd like as I'm only needing a couple parts from it.

Echo part numbers: 43701200330 Check ball and V450000290 Spring

Wow Gary it cleaned up well. That is just an awesome looking and sounding saw. I am glad I could help get it in the hands of someone that would appreciate it like you will. Badass, just a badass saw right there.

Rory, (and listen Gary) there is a problem with that saw isn't there? It shouldn't be smoking like that when revving it up and I'll bet you that smoke smells like bar oil burning don't it?

The problem is common on these older Echos, not just the 900's, any that used the screw in piston type oiler. There are 3 o rings on the pump body where it is screwed into the case and when they get old they let bar oil get sucked into the case and burnt in the combustion chamber.

Its a simple easy fix.

Oh and pull that starter rope like you want to next time. :msp_wink:

Well I'll be darned, your right, it dose appear to use the same springs and check balls. Never thought to look at those models.

If you get it and don't need the springs and balls, I would appreciate having them to fix my manual oiler. The auto oiler puts out plenty, it just bugs me knowing the manual wont work and what is needed to fix it aint that much.

My recoil is the same way. You have to pull it carefully or it will bind and make a terrible squalling noise.

Anyway MMark, the saw is yours when I'm done with it.

I did notice that, but I thought the saw was just set to rich?

Yeah you are right, that saw pretty much made me its beyotch.

Been on the lookout for one since I ran Modifiedmark's at the Ohio GTG at Boda65's. Thanks to Hanniedog for the heads up and to LowVolt for making the trip to pick it up and meet me in Northern Kentucky this morning to drop it off. Needs some small bits (muffler cover and bolts, one dog screw, etc.), but fires right up and runs good. Currently sporting a 32" bar and .404 chain. It has no decomp and is a bear to pull over.

Well, here's to some Hanniedog and LowVolt rep shots. (Hit em for me. fellas. I'm out o' bullets for each of em right now.)

You suck, Guido.:msp_biggrin:

Just cranked it up (started on the first pull :msp_biggrin:) and it does smoke. It still has the old fuel in it, I will dump that and see if 40:1 clears it up.

I just received an inside tip that there's another 900 out in Oregon for $275.

Good thing I don't cruise the Cinci CL ads, or I'da had yours before the guy finished hittin' the send button to post the ad!

Nice score, Gary.

Heck Pogo just go ahead and get that other 900. If you don't like I'll swap you a really nice Stihl 038 Mag for it.

Go for it, man.

I drag enough stuff home from Ohio as it is. Don't need to be scroungin' around Oregon for more!

And I already have a real nice 038 Mag. Paid $135 for it with a case.

(So take that, Guido!):tongue2:

The Oregon one has been around for a while. There was also one in the Gettysburg, PA area about 6-8 weeks ago that was in the $300 - $350 range. The nice thing about this saw is that Rory was able to negotiate a 25% reduction in the sellers asking price.

Back at you Poge, got a nice Poulan 4400 and 2 other Poulan saws in Indiana 3 weeks ago for $80.

Take this!:sword:

The SXLAO was offered to Hanniedog as his finder's fee since I knew he'd been looking for a nice one. He's been very reluctant to accept it as a gesture of my appreciation for his tip about the auction, but I think I finally talked him into it.

Hope you showed similar appreciation toward both he and Rory for their efforts in your 900 acquisition.

I don't think it will clear up, but you will see.

Not a big deal to fix on that saw at all and the Echo dealer will have the o rings.

Just take the plate off the bottom of the saw to get to the oiler, take the screw off the cap and unscrew the oiler out, but to make it easy, count the turns that it takes to get the oiler out then screw it back in the same number of turns.

You send me a mini mac and I wouldn't tell you about your neighbors Echo 1200 if he had one.
