On my last 2 chains I have somehow bent a tooth. The first chain it was bent bad causing it to hop in the cut then bite hard and stop the chain. I heard about cutting the tooth off then its similar to a skip tooth. I did that but the chain still bite hard and stops the chain. Do I need to take off the next tooth in the other direction to even it out?
The second chain started to hop in the cut and bite hard so I took it to the bench and sharpened it then went back to test it and it did the same thing. Upon further inspection I found the bent tooth but am at a loss of what causes this to happen. Also can you straighten them or cut the tooth off or replace the link.
