I have an Echo CS-600P that I am currently repairing and there is some confusion somewhere on the crankshaft bearings. I just removed the old bearings, and was ready to install new ones, and I noticed the outer diameter is different. The new bearings are too small to fit in the crankcase half.
I ordered part number 9403646202, based on my saws Serial number. On the Echo website, there are 4 different parts lists based on Serial number range. Mine falls in the third grouping of C22312001001 - C22312999999.
The earlier serial number ranges list the crankshaft bearings as part V592000000. Both part descriptions have 6202 in the description of the bearing. Anyone have any knowledge of whether V592000000 has a larger diameter outer race than 9403646202? I wonder if there were some left-over case halves from the prior SN range that bled over into the production run of the later serial number saws? The Serial number sticker looks legitimate on the case I have.
The measurement of the outer race of the V592000000 is 38mm outer diameter.
I measured the 9403646202 at about 35mm outer diameter.
The bearings I removed have "NTN 6202 / 38C4 Japan", and the Echo part number 9403646202 bearings have "NTN 6202 Japan" stamped on the outer race. I took a couple pictures that are attached as well. Thanks for any input.
As a side note, this my first repair attempt of a lower end of a split case saw. I have to admit, the difficulty level is significantly higher than the few clamshells I have replaced bearings in before. I don't have any special tools for case splitting, etc. so this has been a bigger challenge than I expected to this point. I know clamshell design saws are sometimes frowned upon here, but at this point, I find clamshells easier to work on.
