Seems like whenever there's an Oregon (or tecomec) sharpener up for bidding on eBay, the things get 20 or 30 bids and end up selling for $225 or more. It seems like there's an endless demand for these things.

Laser Sales in Erie, Pa sells the Tecomec for $249 and sometimes has it on sale for $205 or $215. About 4 years ago they had to drop the reversible grind feature because of UL safety concerns. I like the old ones better, since you really need to grind both ways.

Or get a maxx grinder. Maxx grinds all cutters from the outside in (no burr) without reversing the motor.

I got lucky with mine. Paid $25.00 for it at a yard sale. It is in new condition. Only had to by a couple of wheels. Older gentleman had bought it a few years ago hoping to do some sharpening as a keep busy job. Unfortunately, he got sick and was going to sell all his stuff and move into a retirement home. I felt guilty so I offered him $200.00 but no way I could convince him to take it. Finally settled on letting me take him for a coffee.

Has anyone used a Belsaw 1055 with the chain sharpening attachment ? This is the not the bench mount it is the stand alone general sharpener. I just bought one that is basically new with many things still in unopened packages. I have yet to try to set it up. I did not buy it to do chains with but after I bought it I noticed it had a chain grinding attachment.

I wired my Tecomec to grind both ways. All of the necessary wires are still there, you just have to wire in a small DPDT switch and you'll be able to throw sparks at yourself. :)
