This is a question for anyone trimming palms that aren't accessible to buckets and too high for ladders.

How do you get up there? Are the fronds strong enough to support your weight on a rope? Do you launch a throwline up there and have enough confidence that it is in the best possible spot for a TIP? Am I missing something?

I haven't seen a palm since I was in Honolulu twenty years ago but some that I see on T.V. look 70'+.

I 'm sure gaffing isn't an option for any self-respecting arborist/trimmer so I'll direct any replys on spurring to the schoolyard argument in the spikeing thread.:D
 
In the new Sherrill the reccommend/say to use the Black Widow to pull up a pulley, and then climb with the traditional method(DdRT). That would seem to make the most sense, but I sure wouldnt want the fronds tear off and send me down the tree.
