I stumbled upon info about a company called Envirofit who retrofits 2-stroke mopeds with direct injection in 3rd-world countries. They are focused on emisissions, but I wonder if the same could be done to a saw for more power and better fuel economy, and as a byproduct, fewer emissions?

It would like to transform my old beater carbureted saw into a 500i-like beast!

Get a kit and try it out. I see several issues already in a small.playform like a saw. But hey why not give it a try.

Edit: just looked them up and it seems they no longer deal with this conversion kit and it was targeted to the Philippines only. Does seem like they used a lot of off the shelf parts, but I couldn't easily find any info on the individual parts used. Seeing as they were made for 100-125+ or - engines it wouldn't really work well for saws.

Definatly interesting, seemes some sort of 4 stroke law was passed and it went kaput.

Most scooters have some kind of oil injection that's why they can get away with this direct injection isn't it?
On a saw you'd have to put it on the intake like the 500i might as well just buy a 500i less of a headache..
