......Except loggers and foresters.

Our state has put timber up for sale in state parks where laminated root rot is a problem. I'm sure they are also taking out the usual hazard trees--dead tops, leaners, etc. This yahoo has posted his outrage on another site, saying that he has walked the areas looking at stumps, not seen the stains so therefore it is a money grab by the state.

I would suspect they are also taking out trees that are within 50 feet of infected trees--a common practice.
Here's his video, with spliced together clips that aren't even from our state. Bah. :bang:

Nope, I went back through the video (you owe me for that) and it's not a safety hat. It does go well with the cool shades, the white polo shirt, and the khaki trousers, though. I'm thinking...exchange student.

And the cowboy hat/hardhat. Some of the truck drivers started wearing those. They didn't like the nicknames we gave them when they did. They don't wear them anymore.

The Zone Engineer presented us (seriously) with those cowboy hats. We all politely thanked her, and they were put away to never be worn.

They are just not "cool".

The really sad thing about this guy is that he's already reproduced and is spreading his level of ignorance
to the next generation.

At least the guy with the cowboy hat was running a Mac...

so is it open timber season in warshington?
no more people bothering you saying ''This is illegal timber harvesting''

Everybody is an expert, huh.
An expert is someone who thinks they know everything, and can't be told anything..........Ok, that pretty much covers it.

You guys know anyone in a blazer like that Has to be some kind of expert...

The guy should at least leave practicing the art of sarcasm to the professionals.

Edit: The guy one the video.

Cowboy hats have their start with vaqueros that did real work. Loggin hats are based on the helmets which first came about from WWI... the French are credited with creating those ;)

I seen this guy in the vid before somewhere. Seems more actor than environmentalist, really.

When it all comes down to it, we prolly need extremists on both sides. How else can there be a middle ground?

I'll be helping with the root rot survey coming up here in Olympia, btw. I'll be on the forestry side. Better than working a job at the dump...

Wyk, never underestimate the declining potential of money, power and sex.

Over here the environmentalist radicals did their yahooing in late 70's and early 80's. They established a political Green party, they've had members in the national parliament since 1983, had their chairs in the several governments after that. Over the years they've become same lying, sneaky, double crossing BS politicians as everyone else. They're engaged on the game now. That keeps them busy, not much harm on them anymore. Just keep the volume down, when you're watch political programs or news. The politicians look funny when you don't hear them. Like fishes in a tank.
