Ed is full of what the birds dont eat! It is not easy! 24 guage is less than .024 thou thick. fusion butt welding that stuff with decent alignment is not easy! There is roughly 6 lineal feet of welding. 10 angle changes on the header alone. You wouldn't choke on the price if you knew what goes into a pipe that works.

Well Crofter I guess it is getting easy for me I should of said, I know my first pipe took awhile to weld but not to bad now , I donot think I got any smarter at doing it just not as scared at blowing holes in that 24 gauge, I know the book says that I should be welding 9 inches per minute but I know that is not going to happen with me running the tig, I would think you wuld spend almost as much time fitting the cones as you would welding then together

Getting out of the saw and around the chain brake handle takes time as well as transitioning from round to the rectangular opening on the flange. 12 or so joints right there to cut, fit, and weld. And you make it sound easy!

so do you think that when I charge $250 for a pipe I am over charging now that you have made 2 pipes, want something hard try going the other way around the saw for the guys that cut on the right side and have the pipe run right along the side of the saw, remember the higher the rpm's the shorter the header is and on saws that run big gears you will need to keep the pipe high above the bar and chain so when cold started the chain does not hit the bottom of the pipe,
on making the square ports, why do you think I bought a mill machine for, that is 1 job I donot like , cutting the hole in the plate that bolts to the jug. but it is alot easier now with proper tools

For that price I'd only give them a straight header and they make their own bends and attachment plate. I had to make two small recesses into the side of the header pipe on the 026 to clear the screw heads. It all takes time.

When you pipe on the right can you get all the direction change out of the header or do you have to put a few breaks in the diffuser too?
