A close friend is a logger, owns the business, and we made a plan for this winter. I think we did ok.
He brought over 9 loads of logs, stacked in his 14' dump trailer and many as he could fit. We rented this processor, rental fee was $525. Since he had all the time invested in hauling 9 loads of logs over I paid the $525. Did all the work at my place since I had plenty of room and the tractor.
All told he managed to get 8 dump trailer loads of split wood home, and I have the pile pictured which I think is more than enough to get me through 1 years worth of wood. Many of the pieces need split one more time, but it'll be easy to knock them in half with the splitter while I'm loading them up for transport.
