Festool Router?

Anyone use Festool tools? I got a DTS 400 sander and now I'm sold on the quality.

Thinking of getting the OF1400 router as all other options on the market are **** or barely mediocre.

The price is ludicrous, but it accepts normal power, normal bits, and seems to be the only one made well on the market today.

I can scrounge hard since I'm in no rush. I have several old porter cables right now, but they're long out of production/support.

I've gone through quite a few routers over the years, out side of the old heavy ones my current dewalt has been the longest lasting. Can't remember the model off the top of my head, it's a 12 amp variable speed has a plunge and fixed base. Came with a bunch of extra collets. I mostly use it for aluminum milling, few times I've done brass and other soft metals. Have a bunch of custom collets to run end mills in it. I've used it for the normal wood routing on occasion and it works fine for those needs. Plenty of power for large bits and haven't had an issue in any of the hard woods I've been using recently. Looking at your model i can't say it specs out much different then what I've got, but it's way more expensive. For my needs and not really using a router very often, I'd give it a hard pass.

Festool's have a good reputation but I've always been put off by the price. I've had great luck with my Hitachi but it doesn't have an exhaust port for dust pickup. Not a big deal to me, though.
