Hi Matt, always nice to see you posting - even though I don't agree with everything!
He was fascinated by the chain I had on the saw (33RS) as he hadn't seen round filed full chisel chain cut like that before in pine. Anyway he took a look and asked what file size I was using. I said 7/32" - he commented to the other guys to take a look and liked how it had gotten into the gullet. .
Gullet work pays off in many ways............. underestimating the importance of maintaining gullets will slow you down in the cut, and sometimes compell the operator to file rakers (mistakenly).
Maintaining gullets will allow a chain to do max chip ejection, and enhance its self feeding abilities ..............allowing rakers to remain higher protecting the cutter more.
