. It's the old stihl HD filter, the kind that needs oil. I'm asking because I dont know if this kind of HD is considered foam. Thanks. Evan

Wrong oil... the filter is not what they mean by "foam", and.. if you haven't bought that filter, DON'T... It was obsolete over 10 years ago.. Plugs up with fine junk, can't be effectively cleaned, and then you get a major power loss. It also need the 1124 prefilter... and the inner sponge for the 044.
