Yesterday was a nice change but we are back to major smoke in the Boise area now with no end in sight. The fires are creating their own spin over the area which sucks.
Been watching Slider for many weeks.

I think most of that area north of Chico is grasses and chaparral, which is why it moved so fast. You can see where it climbs the foothills and approaches Lassen, that's where the big timber is at.
We have a big smoke plume due West of us here. Fire near Loyalton. They have already evacuated the Sierra Brooks region and the southern end of town. Total fire ban in Nat'l forests in the Sierras right now which sucks for camping.

Looked wild on the sat map yesterday
Arson ., cause of the big LA fire…guy arrested. 
A good friend lives in Montreux and evacuated. He said they're predicting up to 50 MPH winds towards his house today.
Davis Fire projected path. My friend lives right about where the M for Montreux is on the map.

So very sorry for everyone impacted by this. Can't begin to imagine.
I got paged to a fire that was only a couple of houses away yesterday. It was a good experience for me to run a hose reel for 45 minutes while the FireHawk did the heavy lifting

It sounds like these billionaires should be paying for wildfire management in Malibu.
What makes you think they aren't? Pretty sure they are paying property taxes. In Washington State, all wildfire management is funded that way.
Nah. I think if a bunch of billionaires are going to set up a private paradise in a fire prone area they should pay 100% of the bill.
