just curious, i have a duffle bag with my spares for my toys and me in it that always goes to the woods, it contains: one extra bar for each saw, one extra chain for each saw, assortment of files, tools for saw, spare section of pull rope, spare plug, spare pair of gloves, spare safety glasses, spare ear protection, wedges, and a small fire extinguisher. dang sounds like im packing for the weekend. oh yeah extra 2 cans of skoal and a can or tweo of spotted dog. one (hopefully clean) sweatr rag.

I carry spare plugs, pull starter rope, gloves ear protection, files wedges, spare chains, and some other misc things. I keep mine in the tool box.

I take all the safty gear, extra bars, chains, files, first aid kit, hot coffee, plugs, and snickers bar. I try to remember to bring a fire extinguisher, rope, axes and wedges.
Wow, I did not know I took all that stuff with me.

Oh jeez. A backpack with extra chains(all sharp), extra bars, files, extra ear muffs, extra gloves, stocking cap, first aid kit, screnches, tuning screwdrivers, a couple pints of MX2T, chaps, a tarp, a few wedges, some rags. In the trucks are a fire extinguisher, extra tarp, a tool kit, extra water(both potable and non potable), extra motor oil, ratchet straps, tow straps, tire chains, bungee cords. Sometimes I'll bring an axe, a splitting maul, 5 gallons of extra gas, sandwiches and a thermos of coffee or tea, or............Yeah, alot of the load isn't wood. Usually I don't bring the splitting maul or the axe as I prefer to bring logs back home here to be blocked and split. Much easier to transport.

I show up with my saw and cut firewood - then I go home and make my kids stack it after they split it - if not, I beat them. You guy's are waaayy too prepared. Just enjoy the pun!

file, saw wrench, gas, oil, pickaroon & drinking water..........used to carry more when logging, but cutting firewood, your only out there a couple hrs.

Lol, and I forgot to add a couple things. Extra safety glasses and a peavey. Tree Sling'r, I don't have any kids, any ideas on how to get wood to split itself?

We just watched the Dukes of Hazzard last night, I wonder if you sawed the rounds and left them on their side and used one of them Duke Boys' "loaded arrows" if that would work. Dunno, but maybe.

I go out with an ammo box thats packin a few sparkplugs, extra hearing protection, spare chains, extra bar, about 2 gallons of drinking water, plus like 5 gallons for fires, extra bar oil, as much gas as I can take, plenty of extra 2 stroke oil, and if I know it'll be awhile, I take a few pairs of clothes for after I'm done. never know if I'm going to be meeting up with someone I want to look good for.

A pack of cigarettes. I quit, but the one place I really enjoy a good smoke is after cutting wood. Just wouldn't be the same without it.

Lawn masters you carry 5 gallons of water out in to the woods? You carry more stuff into the woods then I do to go camping for the weedend.

I'll carry just about everything everyone listed except the five gallons of water. Waaaaaaay too much stuff but whatever you leave home will be the one thing that you gotta have and winds up shutting you down for the day.:bang:

So what's the down side? At my age it is a pleasant surprise to have a valid excuse to quit early. Besides, that is where my beer is.

I lost my brother as a helper the day I made the rule "no beer in the woods".

Down side: it's 1.5 hours and $30 worth of gas round trip to the woodlot. Doubling that cuz I forgot something is unacceptable.

i have to say , i love beer probably more than anyone here, but. me or anyone else cant pop one until the saws are put up. just makes me to nervous, guess im just a girlie man. cant drink and weld either, tried it. i weld like a 5 year old when im lets say, a little happy.

I have a milk crate with the usual suspects ...plugs,files,wedges,tool, small PPE.

The most interesting item in my crate is a large zip-log bag full of maxi pads and a roll of hockey tape...

Hmmm

There is a danger of cutting down a tree with bee's in it. How about taking a bee suit along?

How about a snake bite kit?

Where do you draw the line?
