Firewood Prices In Your Area

I am looking to compile a list of firewood prices in different areas of the US and Canada, and hoping you guys can help me out. If you are so willing please post your area and price for specific woods in cord or face cord / rick.

PA doesn't allow us to sell facecords. Legally. Cords or fractions thereof. Or by cubic feet. Everyone on FB or Craigslist sells by the truckload though. Depending on species, $150-300 per cord.

A face cord is very much a recognized quantity in Northern Michigan. The average going price for hardwood (Sugar Maple, Beech, Red Oak) is $85 per face cord, delivered. Most off a discount for larger quantities.

Face cord is a stack 4' X 8' single row. Width not specified.

Most everywhere cord = 128 cu ft or 4" X 4' X 8'. 3 rows of 16" or 2 0f 24"

I'm in far NW Oregon, surrounded by timberland, mostly douglas fir is grown. I've never seen anyone here refer to "face cords", just sold by the cord. Most common are douglas fir and alder for around $200/cord. Hardwood is less common, but bigleaf maple would the be the most common and I would expect to pay $300/cord for that. We can get permits to go harvest from state forest though for $15. Is that common in other states?

Considering I am surrounded by timberland, I would have thought it would be cheaper here compared to other places. I'm actually shocked you can get hardwood for $85/cord in other places in the country!

$85 a face cord......typically 1/3 of a real (defined) cord. Or, $255 a cord.

In northern Vermont it's always 16 in as far as I know. A cord is a cord no matter how you split it, though.

In NC I'm seeing oak at $300 - $350 a cord.

I've never seen or heard of a face cord for sale here, but oak is $500/cord PLUS a delivery fee.

I sell it $300/cord just to move it out of the yard to make room for new wood for next year. Typically, around here $500/cord delivered.

I remember selling seasoned hardwood, $40/cord/128 cuft , delivered. I was I young teenager.

If my memory is right, around 1977 it was $65/cord for split 4 foot lengths of green mixed hardwood. Terms were when he got around to sending an invoice, generally at least 3 months after delivery.

Green, split, cut-to-length hardwood is currently $325/cord here in midcoast Maine. I just gave away a pickup load of white birch and was glad to see it go. Spruce, pine, fir get dragged into the woods to rot.

I just checked, around here, I am seeing $325 a cord, and that is what I am selling it at. Regular old pine...
Central colorado, so it's nothing fancy like you guys back east have with your hard woods!

Really depends who you're getting it from around here, seen a local at $185.00 cord of "mixed hardwoods" up to $275.00+ a cord plus a delivery fee. Still way cheaper to get logs delivered. $700-800 per load.
