I make tall stacks for the splits that I sell. This is Ash cut 15 1/2" split kind of small ( mostly fireplaces) with some bigger ones mixed in for over nighters. I am on a bit of a hill, mostly gravelly with a bit of top soil. I usually spread a layer of mulch before I drop the splits on the pile. We get lots of wind, I have 28 commercial windmills out my front window so when the wind is the correct way they blow a nice breeze across my pile. In the Fall I drop splits into Totes and sometimes store them inside for winter sales. For my boiler wood I cut my rounds 32" long and split them small enough so my wife can load the OWB. They are stored in wooden crates that have roofing membrane on them, they are 32" wide and 48long x 48" tall. I also do a lot of camp fire wood, I'll attach a video to my next post showing my process for them.
