I bought the bottom one in the picture Lakeside posted from my Stihl dealer and I think it was $8.95 and tax. I know it was cheap emough that i jumped on it. I figured if I used it once it was worth that price.
It works on several different saws 044,031, 051 and others that i do not remember. Tom

Here's a cheap M22X1.5: http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cgi-bin/ryderfp/products/srm/oid/48831/pn/Stud-Hub-Piloted-M22x1.5-4-29-64-L/erm/product_detail.jsp

Haven't managed to find a supplier for M26x1.5 but it is used as a metric hydraulic thread. Banjo nuts are available which would help with the drilling.

Good find, but... 10.9 - it might be tough to drill. If it is hardened, you might be able to temper it by throwing it in the wood stove over night (assuming you let it burn down).

I can't find my receipt, near as I can remember $5.95. maybe I got it for cost?

yes.. you got it for cost... They are a bit more now, and one of them is a lot more. Because Stihl doesn't have a resale price on tools many stores mess (they just look up "the price") up without realizing it!

glad to see google still works

i'll stamp "stihl" on it and sell it to ya for 125.00

I've already got the Stihl units, all of them..., but I'm going to order that second you have posted. Even if it just sits in my box at home for $20 it's worth is.

Very good find... The moped/scooter shops should also have the slotted bolt-on puller - that Bosch ignition was used on a zillion older Vespa type mopeds...

I looked and looked,.. I'll keep looking too :) idk 60$ just seems like alot, thing is, if I buy that bolt on puller, chances are when I take apart my other 045's I'm gonna need the other puller,.. I think I'll wind up trying to make one. I need the welding practice and I'm getting layed off tomorrow so I'll have the time,..
I think that the way I have the snap on puller setup is there is too much bolt stretch to really get a good feel for the applied torque to do the job, we'll see, I'll get it:biggrinbounce2::biggrinbounce2:

I just found that puller,.. in the uk for 26$ that sounds more reasonable,.. anybody ever order from here??

Update

Well I did manage to get that old flywheel off a couple weeks ago. Thanks everyone for the posts and information, I appreciate it!

I was sawing some stuff the other day and my 051 was "jingling" a little bit,.. I thought that maybe I had a clutch spring let go,.. wanted to finish that last cut,.. recoil came loose and popped a couple fins off the fanwheel :dizzy: :censored: so,.. I bid on another one for 5$ and got it. Needs a good cleaning. So here I am again in the same boat. This flywheel needs the 22mm x 1.5 p thread in kind (thanks Lakeside). I found them listed but out of stock everywhere :censored: Wound up ordering from UK for 17$. Just thought Id pass that along to anyone in the same boat.

did someone post a cross reference sheet for all the pullers?

well.. the 026, 066 and 025 all use different pullers, if you can call the 025 unit a "puller at all";)

Don't 066s have different pullers? or is it just between the poly and alum flywheels?

Will this moped shop thing do my 066 (alum) and my 026?
