KenJax, I didn't mean old as in age. I meant in terms of length of membership here, number of messages posted and tree work experience, all three of which I don't have too much of compared to you guys. And you're right: I am willing to listen and learn.

When someone shows interest in learning something new in the tree care field or climbing or whatever and asks what would appear to be a 'stupid' question, it would be helpful if you smarter folks did not rip this person a new one. That person will be less likely to ask questions and not get the advice that he needs. Just remember we all started out not knowing anything and had to learn along the way.

These guys will help you...if you let them. This ain't Cub Scouts and some of the advice you get might be a little direct and blunt. That doesn't mean it's not good advice.
Toughen up a little.
