I sent them a email stating a true professional will never go to there tree and waste there time on that tree and to beware...

Some folks just appreciate value. I only cut for firewood and dead and blown-over trees are the only thing I touch on my 20 acres. I had a logger try to get on the property when I first bought it. No way, brother.

A professional needs to have a talk with those folks.

funny thing is, someone will do it.

Yeah, so true.

We may be taking down a 4' DBH Pecan fairly soon. It stands around 70' high and has eight sub-leaders on it. A very big tree. I may actually put an add on Craigslist that interested parties can come and get the wood. Pecan is very popular, here, for cooking. Since it costs nothing to post an ad like this on CL, I figured, "Hey, why not?" The less I have to haul off, the better. I suppose I could try to get some $$ for the wood, but that might make the difference between good response to the ad and nothing.

Look again--there are 3 clean-looking 8' logs in those 2 WALNUT trees that may pay for the removal costs, and more.

At least they were kind enough to point out the power lines running behind the bigger of the two walnuts.

There could be some marketable veneer logs in there, but who knows how much metal may be embedded in there? Residential walnut is really dicey.
