Friction knot for pulley

Santa kindly brought me a Hitch climber for Chrimbo,being playing round with different knots.Finding a distel is working good,what does anyone use?

Distel for me. What kind of prusik are you using? Without an eye to eye spliced prusik sometimes the knot interferes with the hitch climber.

Since i climb on several different ropes, of differing age, the VT works best; because it is easy to tweak a little with each variant.

I use 3 wraps and 3 braids...

you can tweak any hitch to your liking ,by adding or taking away a wrap ,i like the distel, 4-5 over 1 ,forget what it is called with an eye-eye but the blakes is interesting, 5/1

Poison Ivy rope- 5/16" bee line VT 4 wraps 2 braids

I've some ocean polyester 10mm,no eyes,using double fishermans.I can see where your coming from with getting in the way though.Ok so far....

I only had a tiny wee play with a VT,will give it some more time.

Anyone use anything else other than distel or VT?

I use an icicle as I found with the rope I have in the rain, the VT wasn't releasing. Because I'm not a regular climber, I was given some rigging line to climb on (I don't know the name of it, other than its red).
