or Muckalot saws are gay !

Hay i heard that!

why does every one have to pick on the one brand of saw that is responsible for the technology that all saws use today. they had many more saw firsts than any brand still around.

With all due respect O N, what on todays modern saws is Mac technology ?

Technology changes extremely rapidly in everything and has done so the last 30 years ! Now it just seems to evolve quicker and quicker all the time.

You have a couple key statements "still around" and "they had". I am not going to bash Mac but to talk about them as a technilogically adavanced company is a bit odd. They may have had good saws years ago but they pi''ed it away with all the junk saws they put out and sold through the box stores. I am a Homelite collector and I have to say that Homelite was no better. They ruined the company with junk saws and selling out by selling saws through box stores. Husqvarna never had a presence in our area until about 15 years ago. Since Mac and Homelite had went down the tubes Husky was selling saws but just like the others they sold out to the discount stores. The local dealers either went out of business or switched to Jonsered. This was at the same time that one box store (Farm and Fleet) switched from selling Jonsered to Husky. Now locally we have Stihl, Solo and Shindiawa sold by dealers with the rest sold at box stores.

Is Stihl so poular because of there technology ? maybe
Is Stihl so popular because they are more rugged ? debatable
Is Stihl more popular because of their corporate structure and dealer support? H""LL YES.
Am I a Stihl lover? NO I just look at reality. I love to find old Macs, Homelites, and others.

Sorry to ramble on and derail the post but I just seem to get going

Bill

BTW anyone have some 2 man saws to sell

I don't think there is any sound, but I may be wrong!

well i didn't mean to say that they still are a good company.
but in there day they made a lot of advances along with homelite but in there later days they fumbled on customer service and selling out to retail chains didn't help either. in fact the store i work for sells the new disposable saws by mac the are all plastic and the bar is held on by one bolt i would take any polan over the new macs any day.
