I have been working on some older Homelite saws I acquired. Super EZ and Super 2 are running XL 123 is work in progress. I have Stihls, 200T, MS362, MS460, Husqvarna 272 3ea. I have been running 50/1 Stihl synthetic in those saws. Was wondering if I change my mix to 40/1 Stihl synthetic would it be OK in all these saws including the older Homelites?

Should be fine just be sure to retune the mixture as a higher concentration oil mix takes away from the amounts of pure fuel per unit of mix….essentially slightly leaning out the saw if not retuned a bit richer.

I use 40:1 in everything, even with alkalyte fuel. The saws that still have carbs get tuned slightly rich. More important is ratio consistency, using fresh fuel and storing fuel and saws in the dry.
