I dabbed a little bit of blue lock-tite on the threads...

Did not work for me, I figure it is the cold how the Al is dynamic.

BTW, I got the Buck. ridgid pads and am of two minds about them. Could just be getting used to something new.

They stay put, unlike the wrap pads I had, but they do not have a way to sinch down. Just push and lash down the velcro. Can't get them as tight as I would like.

Also, they are not the same MFR as the "irons" so the do not align the gaff like I'm used to.

Thanks to all for the info! I talked with my co-worker about buying him a pair of Geckos, his response was not what I expected! He told me that he would rather have his Bashlin gaffs sharpened first.(they are permanent) He is afraid that the company will suffer if he gets new hooks!(it won't) what great employee!
