Generac 30 or 40 HP engines

Has anyone been using engines from GENERAC on their equipment? They are offerred on Ebay for several hundred dollars less than Kohler or Briggs,while claiming equal or more torque. Also they apparently have the same footprint as the smaller block 25hp or so Kohler/Briggs engines so installation would be easier/direct fit.

Will need to repower the 252 one of these days.

Any reliability or parts availability issues?

Don't do it. While they are building some pretty good engines, it is almost impossible to find parts or warranty support for those engines. There are no aftermarket parts available either, not even filters. You will also find that Generac engines are very thirsty and use at least 1/3 more fuel /hr than a comparable Kohler.
