It does... but maybe someone wants to wait 7-10 days... If you don't offer it in the original auction, then why give one to someone that sends you a message? Then do you sell the item to the person that asked you about a BIN? Almost sounds dishonest to me... not tryin' to nit-pik... just seein' why you would do that.

Well I just sold my 029 there. Not that anyone asked but if they would have shot me a reasonable offer, I would have taken it. Stihl's usually bring a good amount of dough...It all depends on the item.

Most of the time I will put "May end auction at any time due to local sale" that way other bidders won't be pizzed when all their bids are cancelled.

I you put up a saw that might bring $300 at the most would you take a offer for $400?

did somebody here end up with this saw?

not me. i was out re-stacking my holzhausen, came inside to check the price. too high. went back outside and the !@#$% backside fell over again.

my father-in-law stopped by and decided to help by trying to climb up the dang thing....

Bugger! :bang:

I hate it when people pull auctions off because they think they aren't getting the action they should. :chainsaw:

what is a holzhausen?

supposedly a better way of stacking wood to season/cure. check out the "Stihl need an SAP analyst" thread for pics.

I have about 2-3 cords of wood stacked to the left in the traditional way of the left one in the first pic. And I decided this year to throw up a couple and see if the wood seasons any differently. It better since it's more work...

PS There's a typo in your sig, first line....

No, that's not me. If I was in the market for an 066, I'd have bid that saw up higher that $475.

We shouyld have a section at AS, where we all help guys buy saws on ebay. With all the members here, we could steer them in the right direction and there might even be members that know the seller, like in this case.

new to me 066

This 066 was the only one that looked like it was worth owning that stayed with in the budget [under $500]. Seems all the others I've looked at sell at the 500-600 and up range. It was a strange feeling seeing a saw I was bidding on have its own thread.;) Now I just need the seller to unlock his paypal account or sent me alternate payment instructions.:help:

That saw was worth 300

e bay rocks for getting big bucks for junky stuff.

I love it.

If the dealer used OEM parts and will stand behind their work, that saw was worth every cent he paid. There are lots of " paid too much " items on Ebay, but a rebuilt 066 from a reputable dealer is worth that much. They get $250 to $300 every week on Ebay for 066's that need rebuilt.
Now for the real reason I respond. I had all intentions of buying that saw and I FORGOT about it while working on one of my trucks! Congrats Bucker!

they are good mechanics, and have always treated me fairly, i priced a stihl oem p&c(which was used on this saw) and it lists for around $310 i think. and it has a new carb on it also, don't think you could go wrong with this one

Thanks your helping with the buyer's remorse!

I didn't think I was getting hosed on the saw. As above mentioned factory piston and cylinder, carb kit, new 24" bar and chain are worth almost $400 from the dealer. Now if I could just get payment instructions from the seller as his paypal account is not accepting payments.

Uh...No. It was worth $475, because that's what it sold for on the open market.
There were about 10 bids higher than $300. And if you count sniping programs that don't show up on the bid list, there were probably a lot more.

You know not what you speak of.:newbie:

sILlogger, will you PM Another Bucker with this guys phone number so he can call him up and get this saw paid for?

Great idea.. Or seller can contact me through e-bay or get his paypal account unlocked. It could be doing him a favor as he had other auctions that ended and might not be aware of the paypal lock out.
Thanks.

edit. I also have tried to contact him through e-bay so if no one wants to get involved I'm ok with that too.
