I guess I really didn't try a Husky. Does anyone know where, who makes the 346xp? Do the guys on the assembly line make a wild thing today and tomorrow they put together 346xp's? I just don't want to be faked out again. Thanks! I have Husqvarna model 96 mausers in 6.5X55 that are quality tack drivers. They are quality. Thats what I'm looking for in a saw.
A pity they don't make weapons anymore, isn't that what we all want, a company that makes both weapons and chainsaws? :)
As for 346xp, it has very good anti-vibration and it is a "real" Husqvarna.
If you are sensitive to vibrations, the 340, 345 or perhaps 353 would be other Husqvarnas to look at. Depending on what you want to use the saw for. (we cut small trees here, and I wouldn't recommend <45cc even for small trees btw)

MKtest, I mostly agree with you again, but you left out the 350 from your list. That is maybe the best one of them all in the vibration department.......

Electrolux had a shareholders meeting a couple of days ago. Apparently Husqvarna Outdoor products are doing great. At the same time household appliances are facing stiff competition from Asia. Electrolux is planning to move Husqvarna Outdoor products to a separate company, with its own board and management.

The labour union at the former Jonsered factory in Brastad (they now make other stuff for Husqvarna Outdoor products, no saws) says this is a good thing. Electrolux has to move more production to eastern europe and asia, and Mexico, and if Husqvarna Outdoor products can be left out of that it's probably beneficial for the brand. (I heard this on local news radio, the union could be talking garbage, I don't know)

What all this means? I have no clue. Doesn't sound too bad though.

IMHO what that means unfortunately is that they are going to try and manufacture products with cheaper labor in countries with less up to date technology sometimes. I know that some Canadian and USA companies that attempted this in Mexico paid for it tremendously as the general quality of their products dropped drastically, some even pulled out of their Mexican plants after several years in order to reclaim their reputation and product quality.

Does anyone know where, who makes the 346xp?
If you want a thrill ride, just get one of the sponsors here to power port you a 346XP and ship it off to you. It'll be very hard to feel any sort of disappointment.

Mktest--You'd love the drill stand that

Justin/Stumper sent to me. It's an old Black & Decker, Made in the United States of America (that's how the plate reads; it struck me as both funny & cool), & it's a quality tool. There are a couple of photos in the Pay It Forward thread in the Off The Topic forum. Sorry about the digression.......
