Just a quick thanks to "scottr" for noticing my need for a fuel tank for my Poulan saw (in my sig) and turning me on to "mattinky"s ebay sale of one. Used the buy-it-now and got what I needed on the cheap. Shipped right away, looks perfect. So, guys, THANKS!!

mattinky has helped me out also with an IPL and tried to get me a throttle trigger for a mini mac ... So he gets a thanks from me too.

Also, Dan_Forsh helped me out with my Pro Mac 1010 so a thanks to him as well.

Most people here are very knowledgable and willing to help .. that's cool!

:rockn:

+1 to AS!!!!!!!!!!!! coolest saw site ever!!!!

Scottr is a big asset to the site and us in the need. He used to send me info through the mail when it couldnt be had through the puter. Even helped my with learning how to work on point sytems style saws ( boy I hated them and sold all of them now) even walked me through a restoring of a poulan XX we were both wondering about what made the them tick, so I bought a non-runner XX and went from there, made a runner out of it after awhile and learned alot.
+1 for Scottr too

I'm not gonna slam the poulans either ... I've got one but don't use it all that often. It runs really well though and the only thing I don't like about it is that it slings oil like crazy. But better that than no oil I suppose.

Why bust their chops (Poulan), My magnesium cased poulans and even had one plastic cased one (make that 2 now project saw I built) will eat the other makers homeowners saws up and cost half as much. If i was just going to run stock saws i would have keep them all, but being they didn't have the right type cylinders etc for hopping up, I had to move into the pro saws to find the closed ports to get that modded power, Built by others that new how to do it right.
The people that bought my stock poulans love them and have cut firewood without a problem all winter. I even put myself on call if there was a problem. Cant beat that for backing up a used saw.
Austin I gave you rep you for trying. :)

Yes same with my 2550 one tank off gas one tank of oil! I use canola it works for me and is cheap much cheaper than reg bar oil!
And is good for the environment!

I totally agree with you! I just saw a ad for a poulan pro for a 170$ Canadian. I know they will cut wood! I think it is the users not the saw that makes them have such a bad reputation! I know A guy that has a small stihl and it is a piece of junk because he does'nt take care of it!If it was mine it would be a good saw at least I know how to sharpen a chain

Austin, I think bump_r picked up one plastic cased PP for a song

I have one running S25DA that never gets used anymore. I think it needs nothing but a starter rope. I believe I replaced a broken clutch spring, but have more springs as well. I have 4 or 5 others, most are toast, but I think a couple just need some TLC. If anyone wants anything let me know. The good saw is worth something, as it prolly only has a few hundred hours on it. Make an offer. I'm still swamped, and have little time to shoot and post pics or package and ship....but ask...

I am looking at a pp295 brand new for 100 bucks Canadian It's at my local /canadian tire They lost the caps fuel and oil I can get those for 6.00 bucks each. I really do not need another saw in this class but for that price!
They take the caps off so people don't steal them of the display model in the store! But they lost the caps to that saw. But I really want to save my money for a Jred 2171
