I just got a Mall 12A and wondered what they are worth and if there is any market for them. The saw is complete less muffler and aircleaner. It appears to be in real good shape, the piston looks great, compression decent, bar and chain free and good. The only faults I see are the missing muffler, airfilter and the rewind was removed apparently due to the missing cord. I would guess that I could have it running pretty easy.
I have no use for such a beast and am debating what to do with it. I did a search on the mall and found all the info except any hint of the market and what they go for.

Nice find! Good old saws. Post some pics and it will be easier to judge the value.

I can tell you this you arent going to get rich off that saw.

Yea, I seen a buy it now on fleabay for $129 for a 2a and it wasn't sold naturally or I would have seen it! LOL

Thinking it would be best used by someone that likes that sort of thing as a parts saw. I am amazed how good the pistion looks !

Without seeing it I would say a couple hundred tops. Especially missing parts.

That is what I paid for my recent DA-211,and it is complete has good paint and runs.

The paint is Key.

You can find lots of old saws that still run good, but finding one that runs good and has nice paint is what people are looking for.

At 50+ yrs old I would imagine there would be a demand for ones with nice paint. I seen OEM decals on fleabay for other model Malls but not the 12A.

12A's don't seem to be worth alot from watching e-bay. I have one, but plan on re-storing it. I have never seen one bring even a 100.00. Bob

Even though real old, they don't seem to be all that rare. I guess the only appeal would be to a collector, and they would want a mint one. I'd consider fixing the one I got up just for fun but wonder how hard it would be to find a muffler and air cleaner.
