Well, I might not be an old timer, but are your points and flywheel air space gapped propperly? Have you used a multimeter to test conductivity, and see if you are generating any current?

We need more info, bro.

the chainsaw i got is an antique wright c-50 and don't have a manual would anyone happen to know the proper air gap for the points and flywheel.?,also how is the test performed to check for conductivity?
thanx!

From what I can find, the points gap is .015, and the flywheel airgap is fixed (non-adjustable) on that saw.

You use a multimeter to test for conductivity, and to see if your coil is generating any juice at all. Google it, and you'll find all the specifics you may need.

Hey, man, just wondering if the guy had any luck. You go ahead am OHM, OHM yourself, I'll stick with a few cold ones and AS.

Allright, so you didn't get my joke? OHM = resistance. Come on I know I really am not that funny but you had to know what I was talking about.

Ok, that is actually pretty good. Any other day I would have gotten that, but today's been one of those . . . :censored:
