All I can buy for my Crapsman is the anti kickback, I'm an idiot and can't run a saw chains so I use my dremel and grind off all of them. It actually works like a chainsaw then instead of either a wood polisher of a fire starting device. So far I've done it to about 12 chains and no breaks or adverse effects yet, just gotta be careful and not grind into the actual link.

Question related to your statement. Where/what do you purchase grinding wheels that will last more than a couple of minutes at a cost of $4-5?

Have had a Dremel for many years, and it is used very little. I could occasionally use it to enlarge a hole slightly and a number of other sm jobs, but gave up because of the cost of their wheels, and how soft they are.

I use cut off wheels on my Dremel, my bench grinder is set up way too coarse for this kind of work, it would rip the chain right out of your hand. As to this possibly not being the culprit, here's my experience. I bought 2 identical Oregon chains. Did not modify 1 of them and started limbing 4"-6" branches, lasted about 14-18 branches, it was too dull to cut and took the Dremel to resharpen. Took chain #2 cut them all of, chain stayed sharp for the rest of the day and all it took was a bit of file touch up. All the limbs were between 4"-6" and all were Pine. In my experience the saw works better w/o them but I have a feeling different saws are going handle it differently due to varying high speed RPM's, different oiling quantities and amount of available power. I figure the saw was a paperweight out of the box, worthless for anything over 2" so what did I have to lose? Now I have a saw I can take camping/4 wheeling and if something happens to it, oh well at least it's not one of my Stihl's.

Yea get rid of the rakers less with less drag in the cut!! You have got to be a le to bore wtf happens when you get to a heavy leaning alder? Dremels are no good unless your polishing with a wire wheel even then leaves bunch of wires everywhere for the dog to step on .. I personally got ripped off as well on g bay whole roll of full comp safety chain wtf if your getting safety chain you don't even know what full comp is!! I never even heard of such a thing they just had 6 rolls of it on there shelf and nobody was buying em they figure you live 4 states away you won't do nothing about it !! Pathetic how much scamming goes on what happened to the American way ? I guess all the real American are disappearing as our country has been over run by the wrong people
