Hard hat for my alien shaped cranium

So the cheap plastic hard hats never fit me. Not only is my head fat but there is a lot of it above my ears so they sit so high they fall off when I look up. Do any of the more expensive ones sit any lower? I hate to shell out the cash for a skull bucket or something and have the same problem. If I could extend the top part of the suspension a little I think the band would sit down where it could hold on.

I'm not gonna lie. It looks pretty stupid too. Otherwise I'd just use a chin strap.

I used one of these for my pin head as has ratched clasp at rear let me tightin up to noggin

I'd be pretty sure climbing lids are OHS rated the same if not more than typical ground work lids.. This Stihl dynamic is a half way between climber and all rounder fits me very well plus lighter and breathes to cool in heat well.. The chin strap and ratchet tightener helpful plus the drop down visor surprisingly handy feature.. If you wear muffs they allow side clip on but i prefer the neck lace plugs systems

I, too, have a fat head, and have a cheap helmet that does fine for me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J25JZAY/ Getting the suspension snug enough that it does not fall off is important, and that helmet is comfortable for me while staying snug. All the less expensive helmets will sit high on the head when properly adjusted because the space between plastic and skull is essential to absorbing impacts from falling objects. I probably should spring for a better and more expensive helmet, but I foolishly went so many years without any helmet at all that I do not find myself ready to make that step.

Mine has about 4" of space when it's on my head. Seems like way more than enough. I think the suspension has to accommodate the smallest head so with a big nogin there isn't enough length there to span.

I'm gonna try one of the climbing helmets like has been recommended and I'll report back when it comes in.

I use a climbing helmet for a number of reasons. I can wear it climbing (like rocks and stuff) I can wear it caving, I can wear it cutting (ear pro underneath) I can wear it working around the property (im tall i hit my head alot)

I tried on the stihl arborist helmet yesterday. Think it's made by Kask. Much better fit. I'll be picking one up when funds allow.
