Bob,

How far from the cutter wheel does the hyd motor stick out? If I'm looking at things right it looks like you have to grind out the soil past the left edge of the stump at least as far out as the hyd motor sticks out to get much deeper than about 6", which looks like about how deep you can go before the hyd motor guard reaches the dirt.

Also, is there a bearing on the opposite side of the hyd motor holding the shaft, or is the cutter wheel just supported from the hyd motor side?

No spec sheet on Bandit's website yet, just an article. How long is the machine? 112", same as 2150xp?

Thanks for the info,

Hi Stumper...

U will be down 8 inches b4 bottom corner of hyd motor cover touches dirt, down 11 inches
to bottom of cutter wheel frame, i have ground some stumps down until cutter wheel
bottoms out about 13 inches, no problems, cutter motor sticks out about 6 inches on
left side, have not noticed any problem, did not even think about it until u mentioned it..

No bearings on cutter wheel, supported only on left side, bearings are inside in constant
hyd oil fluid bath, no greasing, bandit says to take off center plate on cutter wheel and
check torque on allen bolts 13 ft lbs weekly, pretty simple to do....

Also suppossed to chk hyd pressure monthly, they give u a gauge, was the same on
the 2150 hyd controls....

The grinder works really well on large pine stumps, which we get a lot of, easy to get
the first cut down deep and keep the face cut vertical so u will keep the cut the same
depth all the way to back of stump, sometimes hard to do on pine, as u probaly
allready know...

Length of machine is about the same as the 2150, motor is on the back so u
have to watch backing up around other trees or u will hit the muffler, probably
should have guard around motor, but the way it is now motor and all hyd's are
very easy to work on, machine fits on my 10 ft trlr with about 8 inches to spare...

Overall very impressed, only time will tell how well machine holds up...

Hope this helps...

Bob...
