O hi o
Has anyone heard bad or good about these saws? I was thinking about trading in my 029 for one.

Excellent saws, good looking to boot.

Yup! GREAT saws, I've got an older 670, its not pretty, but it sure does work when I want to cut. only thing I can say about these saws is they rule.

I bought a Jonsered 2159 in Nov 05, a great saw, in the last 4 months I have cut over 1000 cords of firewood with it, no problems at all.

Don't know much about the line except that they are a well built pro quality saw like Stihl and Husqvarna and Echo. Just be sure to match the saw to your needs, whatever brand you choose.

Wow. 7 replies and nobody has bothered mentioning that the Jonsered is the twin to Husqvarna. Most models are practically identical with most parts interchangable. Sort of like comparing a Chevy and a GMC.

I was thinking the same thing......

ive got a 630 super and love it. not all,but most people on this sight seem to agree. by the way do you know the model number of the jonsered your talking about. whatever it is im sure you will be pleased with it. good luck!!!

I use a 2095 and it is one of my favorite saws. The smallest Jonsered's are Poulon's. The mid range saws are very similar to their Husky brothers. There are some differences sometimes but the parts are usually stamped Husky. They rev high and have a nice power band. I buy all my saws used and the problem I see the most is piston damage from running to lean.

Jonsered?? Never heard of them... The closest brand I know of to that is Johnnie Reds. Just kidding,

What model are you thinking of trading that 029 for?

The man at the dealer ship said sthils with odd endding number are "homeowner" type and even anumber saws are the "pro" type.Is that true?Iam thinking about the CS 2165 or the 2171. With a 32" bar and a 20" bar.A 32 for big stuff and 20 for everything else. They have a brand new 2095 with 36" bar for $939.99.That saw is way big saw.Iam getting all my ducks in a row for side jobs on weekends and when Iam laid off.:chainsaw:

It was true 15 years ago.. but not today. The 029 is not a "pro" model, but many pros use them day in day out for firewood cutting..

Actually if you look close you will find more that is different than most think.
You will find the crank case and the motor to be the same but a lot of the plastic and handles are different making it a whole different feeling saw.
