I went over during lunch and checked out the splitter. It had several issues,
so after haggling with the seller for a while we settled on $525 leaving me with
some things to fix. First, those fittings, yuck. Also, the pickup line from the tank
into the pump is junk and collapsed on itself majorly restricting flow. The
pump is single stage and undersized in my opinion, but I won't know until the
lines are sorted out. The high pressure line from the pump to the valve
is a solid pipe, but is undersized and thus really restricts flow. Watching the
cylinder move was painful, but it moved smoothly. The splitter is also too low,
with small tires. Perhaps larger tires alone will get it up to an acceptable height,
but I can handle it for now.
So my plan is: new fittings, new input line to pump, new high pressure line to
valve. See how things go. If It still is too slow, find a decent used 2-stage
11GPM (5.5 HP engine on it) pump and see how things look. Also, I will replace
the fluid since it is probably very old and has no filter (yet). Does this sound
about right?
Thanks!
