The property that borders my neighbors field was logged for the black cherry trees. They left a mother lode of tops in there. I got permission from the owner to take them for firewood. I cleared paths to the path the skidder left in there and finally got up there to cut over memorial day weekend.
The Husqvarna 350 performed well again. This past week I started hauling what is cut back home through my neighbors fields. I'm using my Simplicity yard tractor with a 17 cu.ft. brinly trailer. One day my wife wanted to go so I set her up with my other Simplicity and trailer. I guess thats called a date for us these days.
Anyway, this system works good for me. Got some pics and vids

Nice pics. Way to go with what you have on hand and what works. Great that your wife is willing to help out.

Simply perfect lol now that defines twinkies in an all different way
his and hers tractors  You rock man!

My neighbor uses a simplicity and cart too. I use quad and cart. He had a problem with steep hills and the automatic. Had to help him with the quad. The other 90% worked great.

Thanks for the comps guys.
Thats what it's all about. What I have on hand. It has it's limitations, but with the diff lock it pulls the hills pretty good. It's great fun too.

NIce, something about using a tractor, of any size, just seems right when heading into the woods and getting the firewood. Great to see a couple working together.

Its great to see your wife helping. My wife helps me split when I borrow BIL's hyd. splitter. Im jealous of your two riding mower fleet.

When I bought the Conquest I was supposed to sell the other Simplicity. But then I gave her the old, "geez hon, always nice to have a back up". She took it well.

Thanks again. My wife is the picture taker, so she gets all the credit there. I remember the days (not that long ago) of cutting with the Husqvarna 141, wheelbarrowing, or straining the tranny on that smaller tractor. That did the job too, but I'm getting too old for that crap. LOL

I'm not a big guy, so the the Husqvarna 350 works well for me. Although...I have eyed up the NE 346 XP. Slight case of CAD from hanging around here. Maybe next year.:)

I used a 42" Murry in West Virginia with a cart. Chains made all of the difference. Your wheel weights probably dont hurt any either. You said diff lock? Like on a quad? Making it Posi? New to me but I always end up with cheap mowers.

I have almost exactly the same setup. I have a broadmore and a 17 cubic foot trailer. I load it up with split and haul it to stack. Works very well. I have used it a few times in the woods, and it seems to hold its own.

Be careful going downhill with a loaded trailer and wet grass, I went for a trill ride once. LOL :)

Hi JLRoot.
It has a diff lock pedal on the left side that you push down when needed, driving both rear tires. I hardly ever used it in the three years I've had it, except for this hauling of wood.
It has a standard feature called ATC, automatic traction control which if one wheel spins, the other kicks in. It definetly has good traction for a a yard tractor.

This is a snow plowing demo I did last winter. Not using the diff lock in either video. They make this model in a four wheel drive now, but I'm fine with mine.

Nice pics and i'm all for use what you have!!! I have a farmall cub with one of those small 4x6 military trailers works great as i have also hauled lots of wood with it... Your doing it right get the wood where and when its free and easy too get to (read like not in the 12" of snow) I know sometimes time runs short and it'll be starting to snow to get some in gear to cut wood.....
Also good to see you both having fun!!!!!!

goodluck

Cool. That thing sure will push the snow! My quad has where if one wheel starts to spin power goes to the others. I have gotten stuck by trying to push too far up into the pile. Then the frame rests on the snow. Some quads have that front diff lock. I can't speak for them.
