:help: I am fixing to get a pay check from HD for all the time I have been there waiting/ looking for the deals others have had!

Hope they have medical:D

Are the saws only at the stores that have rental centers? The stores near me don't have a rental center.

Do they have any return policy for these saws? What if you get it home and you you pull the muffler and its got a scored P&C or will they let you pull the muffler in the store? I suppose I would trust the service guys if they said they had pulled the muffler.

They're only at the stores with the rental centers.

There is no return policy and you have to sign a bunch of as-is, where-is disclaimers when you buy any ex-rental equipment from Home Depot. I seriously doubt that they'd allow you to pull the muffler, because I doubt they'd know how to put it back on or to know if it was put back on correctly. According to what some of the HD Rental guys told me, most maintenance is handled off-site or by visiting repair guys, and the store employees only clean and prep the machines.

Yeah the guy at the place I went flooded the saw twice before he finally got it started. He would crank it on full choke about 7-8 times with his foot holding the throttle open. He said the "tech" told him to do it that way.:bang:

scored ...

Got one today !!! Thanks to this form ... You guys kick a55... The manager sold it to me for 205. ended up 225 out the door.. BUT GET THIS !
Not only getting what seems like a killer saw the guy also gave me the safety chaps < helmet , extra new chain ,manual , and bottle of 2cycle oil!!!! I feel like a lottery winner!! Thanks again ..

I got one too

I just got the first one of the HD rentals that the guy from Altoona. Pa. was selling on EBAY. This was about 2 weeks ago. I won the bid for $255.00. Ten dollars for shipping. It started on the 3rd pull right out of the box and seems to run great. No trouble cutting up a 24"dia. Ponderosa pine log. It had a new chain and it buzzed right through. Haven't had a chance to cut hardwood yet, but it think it will do fine.

Stylin'! Maybe some green, too, so it can hide among the Wildthings.

Good deal. That's a damned good deal, getting set up with all that other stuff. The chaps and helmet are worth a good $100 all on their own! You got royally hooked up.

I can't seem to get mine to run very well. It will flood every time you try to start it and it seems the high adjustment needle doesn't do anything.

These saws seem to flood really easy. Try one pull on choke, then try starting with no choke.

Ive got many other saws.. but I've also got a 7311 cement saw.. got it used from ebay.. bout new for alittle under $400. opened the box and it looked bout new.. cept the water lines on the blade guard.. I've had maybe 3 tanks of fuel through it.. concrete and also choppin scrap iron and it runs like a badass. Now heres the question.. the biggest firewood saw i use is my husky 51, and ive been on the lookout for somethin in the 70-80cc range (not stihl) But from yall all talkin whats up with the 6401? At 64cc.. can this saw be opened up and perform? Or is just the blueness of the saw or the brand? The website sates that you can put on a 24", 28", 32" bar.. Iam skepticale about the last 2 ones though. So whats the inside story here? Or is it the chance of pickin up a nice rental saw that hopefully no one used the wrong gas mixture in?

is this only in the Home Depots in the States? or has anyone in canada found these deals?
