Would sniffing the vapors or the salt water do anything ? Or just try the squeeze bottle ? Will try anything to make her feel better....the meds to doc gave work worth of crap..and in the long run cant be good for yoru body.

Ok, Let Doc Scott help her. The day after she gets one of the bad headaches have her get a neti pot. Why will she not pour it into her nose? If she can breath through both nostrils she can do this.

I make a tea out of Dried peppermint leaves and mix the salt and baking soda into that. And then pour it into one nostril and then the other.

The one thing I forgot to mention is, once your done, you need to bend over at the waste to get the rest of the solution out of your nose. And blow your nose out.

To all you guys that use this,
Does it help stop a runny nose ?

When cold weather comes along,
my nose seems run all the time when I'm outdoors.

I find that my nose still drips in the cold weather. But I think that's normal, and at least you know that your sinuses are open; it's when they get clogged that the trouble sets in! Give the NeilMed Sinus Rinse a try; at first, you may think "this is nuts" because it's an unusual thing to do; you make all sorts of snuffling, snorting sounds when using it, but I'd squeal like a pig if that's what it took to keep the sinus problems away! :) It costs about $12 at CVS for the kit. Just try not to swallow the solution; you'll get the hang of it in a very short time, and you'll be amazed at what junk can accumulate up there in the old sinuses-this thing'll flush out a whole host of things! Good luck!

Ear Candles

Ear Candles don't work. All the gunk you see in the candle comes from the candle. Do this to prove it to yourself. Put an ear candle in a clean glass that will support it and burn it. You'll find the same gunk in it as if you had it stuck in your ear.

2 drops of high quality Sesame oil (found in the cooking section of your grocery store) in each side of your nose while lying on your back before sleeping. Mostly cured my sinus headaches which were disabling and daily. Of course when I quit smoking the headaches left for good. No sesame oil, no pain relievers needed. 'Only took 30 years of pain to find that out.

I'll try it soon.

And even post some pics.

I was told that the table salt is not cool man. The Iodine in table salt is like way bad to stick into your nose, man.

Is THAT why I have CRS?:hmm3grin2orange:
Seriously though, I never thought to mention that. We usually have non iodized salt around here, for pickling, making jerky and stuff. I do have some iodized stuff around, just in case Iran nukes us or something.:)

I am doing it right now.

I burned half a candle down into a clean coffee mug.

I opened up the rest of the candle and other than some ashy looking wax there was none of the stuff that I find when I use em in my ears. And after using the candles in my ears I will go in with a cue tip and they come out clean.

I have to say that they do indeed work.
But I did try buning one with out them in my ears. and they were clean inside.

One question to everyone. Does all this nasal flushing talk sound rather unpleasant to anyone but me?

The ear candles work far as my wife tells me. I can't see putting a flaming object in my ear. The nose thing I know works she and my grandmother both do that. The thing is they are both gagging and tossing up like crazy when they do this. If there was a way to do this with out the gagg/flash reflex I would darn sure try it. It would be nice to get everything cleaned out in there and pressure relieved. I just don't do the self induced gagg/flash thing.

Here is a real nasty one. If you have kids or you yourself have ear infection problems try this. This came from my Grandmother and both sets of Grand parents on her side. Sounds bad but it cured both of the kids and me. In a small cup catch some urine, yup "P". While it is still warm pour it in that persons ear, let sit until cold. You can't use someone elses for anothert person, it has to be their own. As often as possible for 2 days. No more ear infections forever so far. We did this with both kids, last effort before tubes. I did this cause I got infections alot in winter. No more so far for anyone. With untrainned kids you have to somehow manage to catch it comming out. Squeezing out of diapers or anything, it won't work. Has to be straight from the faucet, girls are a little tougher. Try this it works kids and me and other that I have told that have tried, no more ear infections.

Anyone else ever heard of this? We thought BS but were down to our last string.

I think if I had that done just once to me, I'd never have ear infections either. At least I'd never own up to it for fear of getting another dose.

Stop !!

Nose drains, ear candles, colon cleansing, gargling with urine.............what the H has this got to do with wood heat ? HELPPPP......:censored:
I'm going to bring circumcision into this if you're not going to stop.
Counting: "one"....."two".......

No two and half or two and three quarters. No mouth rinse gargling urine just warm in the ear and cold out.

Now how about this.

Sounds like it would be an interesting experience. A local radio show did this some time back. The put the microphone up to the young ladies belly and you could hear it turning over and over. That also seemed rather unpleasant. I beleive that it was the Rick Emmerson show don't remember the station though.

Granny also talked about another fix, oh maybe not I'm sure that would bring the wrath of logbutcher and his circumcision.

Sorry log but one's personal cuts should stay personal, however if you go first I will tell you about mine :jawdrop: :greenchainsaw: :jawdrop:

Sounds like the wood heat around here is dehydrating the brain matter.

Interesting. My mom said she did that and got the same thing as when she burned one in her ear. Yellow waxy residue. I can't expain it.

another use for urine... yer own urine

Well Owl, and all...

You beat my story, but I have to share it anyway. I not sure I would put "P" in my ear, or worse in my kids', but then they have yet to suffer from infections like I did before my doc cut out my tonsils at 6 1/2...

Here's my story...

I caught athlete's foot when I was real young (10 or 11) from my stepdad. We got it to go away (w/ Absorbine Jr.) and I did not see it again until I was maybe 22 or so and I joined a gym. Someone told me to pee on my feet and it would go away. Sure enough, I peed on my feet as regularly as I could remenber to in the shower (not at the gym... ) and the problem went away lickity split. Now I use flip flops at the gym and I have happy feet.

Peein' on yer feet is a far cry easier than peein' in yer ear. At least with my length of hose...:) :censored:

We a, a, just use a spray bottle with bleach. Squirt some on and let dry for a bit before showering. Gone in a couple days. However it may be worth a try.

Tonsils were an option, but we tried pouring alittle in to see if they were right. So far so good.

Don't want to top the pee stories, but did remove my own plantar's wart. Was in college and had a plantar's wart that was driving me crazy.

Pocket knife, fingernail clippers, and tweezers were the operating instruments of choice and I dug at that thing until I finally got the root of it. Took about an hour. Lost a lot of blood, but got that wart cut out of my foot. Took about 2 weeks to completely heal. Hope I don't have to do that again for a while!

I've been told I have a high tolerance for pain, but have to admit, that surgery procedure really hurt. Dug in about 3/8 of an inch.

Wuss!!!

I had one of those when I was young and I remember dad holding me down while mom dissected it and removed the root.:censored:

Yea, but he did it himself without daddy having to sit on him. :hmm3grin2orange:

I've had my right big toenail taken off so many times for being ingrown that it's jangled up the nerves and now when it gets that way I can take it off with a pocket knife without much pain. It's not really a nail anymore, more of a spongy cartilage that grows out. The last time the army docs had it apart, they said they were going to kill the root so it didn't grow back. All they managed to do was mangle it good. It really grosses my wife out when I sit at the toilet and pull it off. Bleeds/weeps for a good 3 or 4 hours afterward.
