So, does getting it to backfire count as progress? I installed a new AM coil today (hipa). I was able to get it to run for a few more seconds and I was even able to pull the trigger a couple times! :blob2: However, the best I can get out of it is 5-8 seconds of run time, then it backfire once or twice and dies. Someone suggested a kinked fuel line. I haven't replaced that yet. Would a kinked fuel line cause it to backfire? I f I was a gun toting guy, I would have shot it! (guns don't kill chainsaws, people kill them)

There are 2 different modules for it. And aftermarket coils rarely work well.
I think you have an ignition issue and replaced it with wrong am one.
What’s the serial number and I think 450 mk2 uses a different one again?

Also manually check the timing.
Does the magnets hit module at tdc?
Crank end can spin- rare, but happens on 3 and 5 piece cranks

Sorry, I'm not exactly a rocket scientist( although I have played with the idea). I cant quite see how my number relates to the previous parts diagrams. Any rocket scientists on this thread?

So, the new used coil solved the problem! Runs great now. ( why do they have to keep changing coils on these, except to make me mad!)
Because over half the running problems on chainsaws are electrical and not fuel or compression related. That has been my experience. Faulty, coils, wires, switches, plugs, connections, etc.

fuel related 80 percent electrical 15 percent low compression 5 percent.
