off ebay this time, and it is nearly spotless!!! Threw a 20 inch chain/bar combo off my Walker's 372 on it and she certainly is able to pull through the wood faster than the 372. I paid $1031 before shipping and Paypal premium that the seller wanted, but she came with two bars, 4 and 6 foot!! As if I need them as I run 42 and 60 inchers already.
Too bad this saw is destined, right away, for my stump grinder that I don't get to pick up till next week, dang it. It has a half wrap handlebar, which is perfect, and a functioning chain brake that will work on my Greffardized 3120 that I've been too lazy to figure out how to fix..I bought all the needed brake parts long ago. And I'll have a spare muffler as Alpine Machine has designed an all new aluminum muffler, as the stock ones vibrate apart apparantly when used for stumping. I hear it is louder so that is good, as it will mean more power. I was never impressed with my 3120 when it was stock...didn't seem much faster than my 2100 or 066 dual port saws.
I'll put pics up when I get the stumper.
Ha, I just took a break from typing and dug around in the box and found two chains. (The bars didn't arrive yet.) They're worth some money I didnt know he was including chains. But they are full comp, .404...aarggh, I can't imagine why anyone would run full comp on a 48 or 72 inch bar, be it hardwood or any kind of wood!!
This makes 3 more saws in the quiver in the last two weeks, as I got a very clean Makita 6401 from Home Depot rental sales for $225, and a newer 066 of ebay for $550 that is not quite as good as I hoped it would be. I have to get with Lakeside and get it pressure tested. It has some exhaust side scoring on the piston which might be transferred aluminum, hopefully. It runs fairly well.....Seller will probably be willing to give me some $ back..he already offered $15 rebate as the bar tip is way worn.....which I thought was cool though to me that was a minor problem.
