Help Me ID These Slabs?

Pecan and Hickory are extremely difficult to distinguish as boards.

Pecan and Hickory are extremely difficult to distinguish as boards.

They both have very distinct smells to me. I know those are pecan slabs, as I've eaten pecans from that very tree.

Edit - I also now just found out that pecan/hickory are from the same family.

id say this is maple that's been laying around for a while. from what I understand, spalting/rot in maple starts not long after coming off of the stump.
